Wendy Herman has spent her career doing the hard, often invisible work of building conviction before there is consensus.
For more than two decades, she has worked in intimate apparel, from leading roles at global brands to founding BRABAR, a wire-free bra company built for the next generation. She entered the category because she saw a problem hiding in plain sight: girls and women are routinely taught confusing, outdated sizing methods, sold bras that don't fit, and then led to believe their bodies are the problem.
BRABAR began as a product company and became something larger. It is now a movement around fit education, self-trust, and a more consistent way to understand sizing. Through Ask BRABAR, the educational content has reached more than 200 million views in the past year. People arrive with questions they have never felt comfortable asking anywhere else. What size am I? Why does my bra hurt? Why does nothing fit? The work gives them answers, language, and confidence.
Building it has required resilience. She has built without the resources of the legacy companies she is challenging, making fire with sticks, as she puts it, creating product, content, community, technology, and credibility while boxing above her weight class. She has learned to keep moving when the path is unclear, when capital is limited, and when the vision is larger than what the current business can yet support.
What drives her is the belief that trust is infrastructure. In a category this personal, consumers deserve an independent authority that puts their needs ahead of any brand's inventory. That is why she is building BRA LIBRARY: a brand-agnostic fit-intelligence platform designed to serve consumers, retailers, and eventually the AI systems navigating bra fit.
Her greatest victories aren't only commercial. They're the messages from young people who finally feel understood, the parents who say their daughters are more confident, and an audience that has turned fit education into a shared conversation. She believes the future belongs to companies that earn trust rather than simply attention.
