Pilar Arthur-Snead did not initially plan to build The Run Hub. When she began her MBA in June 2025, she wanted to create a marathon tour company for Black female runners. But customer discovery changed her direction.
She kept hearing the same frustration: runners were exhausted by piecing together hotels, race-week meals, expo logistics, and everything else needed for destination races. They did not want a tour company or travel agent. They wanted a place to plan and book it themselves.
That became The Run Hub, a travel platform built specifically for destination marathon and half-marathon runners.
Her path to building it has been just as unconventional. Pilar started running at 43 and launched her startup at 54. She closed a photography business and gallery after twelve years, underwent major orthopedic surgery at 51, and later completed the Abbott World Marathon Majors Six Star Medal across New York, Chicago, Boston, Berlin, London, and Tokyo.
She built The Run Hub's beta herself, launched it in June 2026, and gained paying users before spending a dollar on marketing, while completing her MBA and working full time.
What drives her is simple: she has never believed that being "late" means being too late.
She did not start running on time. She did not start a company on time. She did both anyway.
